Here we are again talking about the gadget website Geek alerts! This site has been mentioned here before. But like all good sites it keeps adding content which is both good and geeky. As you know I love a good geek site.

In browsing this morning I found a ton of great stuff including this:

Zappos means shoes. Seriously. It is the Spanish word for footwear. That is why it is the best choice for the name of an online retailer of shoes. Makes sense right? Well, while Zappos coupon codes are great for getting excellent deals on shoes, slippers, boots or clogs it's not all Zappos is about. Not anymore.

In addition to the literally thousands of shoes that are offered from the virtual storefront Zappos coupon are also good for the many items that are now being offered. So here I am chatting up the web about the Geeky Gadgets website. I've posted here in the past about this site. They offer loads of current posts on gadgets and gizmos. This of course is right up our alley here on Legal Addictive Stimulants. In case you missed the last two updates I did on this site I will once again be extolling the merits of a website that keeps on top of things! Couple that with a name that has Geek in the uniform resource locater and you've got yourself a winner.

We also love them for keeping us abreast of such great breakthroughs like the latest chocolate bar. The bacon chocolate bar.

I can state positively that I've had bacon covered chocolate and it is good. It might not sound like a winner, but trust me on this one. If you get a chance... take it and you can thank me later.

In addition the site offers a number of links to great discounts and coupons. In fact they have a side bar dedicated to it. O look, another Geeky Gadget Website on the Internet. As you know I absolutely adore gadgets. On this site I specifically look for items pertaining to or originating with caffeine. Some days that will that be tea, others soda or coffee. Some days It might even be undergarments.

Today I found a site featuring loads of geeky gadgets and products. Like is caffeinated soda modeled on the Slurm drink from the hilarious show Futurama. This site is loaded with good stuff!

In addition to all the pages of cool gadget and gizmos they also have a how host of other things. Like great deals. When I sent my wife to Phoenix Arizona last year for her youngest cousins wedding, I certainly could have used these Expedia coupons or some Orbitz promotion codes. Travel is an expensive proposition and any thing you can do to knock off some of the cost is more than worth a few moments of your time. I would totally recommend considering that.

So there you have it. A great site loaded not only with a gaggle of geeky gadget but also bursting at the seams with copious piles of coupon codes and deal. So check it out and let me know what you think!

Short End Of The Stock

I've been in the stock market since I was about 18 or so. A friends dad was an investment broker and I had a small chunk of an inheritance from my fathers mothers estate. She willed a portion to each of her 4 grandkids but mine was tied up in a real estate note. So from 19 to about 22 I was getting monthly checks from a womans second mortgage.

I was young and too stupid to put it in savings where I could let it grow, or even looking up penny stock strategies. As such I was using it like a monthly income and quickly ended up spending my inheritance. The last payment from the note was a little over three thousand dollars and it was a wake up call. Three thousand was all I had left from a nest egg that could have helped me with much greater things if I had been wise.

So I dumped it in an IRA in hopes of securing what little capital I had left. Again without doing any due diligence or searching for something of use like a penny stock finder I dumped half of my money into a tech manufacture stock that ended up going bankrupt. The other half I put into a long term mutual fund that ended up losing money. I just recently looked at the account and after a dozen years of neglect I've turned $3,000 that could have grown into just over $600.00.

So, for all you out there let this serve as a warning. Examine your investments and keep tabs on them!

Worst idea ever. Don't even know that I was thinking. Now that I've returned to coffee I'm once again alert, attentive, happy and more of a pleasant person to talk to. So for the record, yes I can quit caffeine if needed. I have a week of misery to prove it.

But the real damage was done to some poor unsuspecting farmer in Columbia that was laid off due to my heartless actions.

"You no like the coffee senor?"
"I do"
"Is it personal? It is about me?"
"You're a great person. I have no grudge against you personally."
"Is it about my family senor, you no like to see them well fed?"
"I'm so sorry! I had no idea how selfish I'd been!"

Going off Coffee

Once again the football season has come and gone. It always seems to me to pass too quickly. I suppose I could offer commentary on the broken bodies and torn jerseys of the various players. It amazes me how short the span of play is for this sport. I image if you told a baseball pitcher that they would only be playing in less than two dozen games they would laugh at you.

Not so with football. Every one accepts that a person can only endure so much brutality once a week for 3 months or so. Too much more and there would be no returning veterans to the game. Only fresh new rookies who couldn't comprehend the pain involved in a full speed tackle from an opposing linebacker.

Still February is always a sad month after that the Football T shirts disappear and Sports Illustrated begins to list the season retiring 30 year olds. We wait hopefully and pine for the fall.

The time of the year when our antenna are alerted to trades, preseason stats and when the best reality show returns to Monday nights! Where we get to once again watch from the sidelines as gladiators battle for supremacy on the glorious gridiron!

Growing Older

As I grow older and older many parts of my body begin to give me trouble. A mere five years ago I would swear to anyone within earshot that I would never need the aid of eyeglasses. I've had perfect vision for my entire life. Recently though I find the computer screen is not looking as crisp as it used to. My resolution has been dropped a few times in order to assist with some rather unfocused print. So it's off the eye doctor to see if prescription glasses are in my future.

Glasses are an expensive purchase. Many people who are affected by the current economy will try to find the most reasonable price for a similar object. Glasses are no different. As such buying prescription eyeglasses online are not uncommon. The trouble? Well unlike hats or belts that you can measure for yourself. Eyeglasses have a very particular assessment. It's called the PD or Pupillary Distance. Basically the distance between the centers of your two pupils. Put away your tape measure, your going to need to call your eye doctor.

Hopefully, they give it to you. Otherwise your locked into buying from them. Seems slightly thuggish to me. A person has a right to their own information and the right to do with that information as they please.

What is up with these names recently? It is just me or does every new product have to come with a name deserving of a pedigree? Anyway, the ridiculously long named contraption, which from this point out will be known as Steve, is really quite interesting. It's a tea brewer with a unique shut off. The problem with a tea machine is the steeping process. With coffee the water goes through the stationary grounds. With tea the water is stationary, and the tea is put in the water. The major problem with this is over steeping.

How could I possibly resist the urge to post a caffeinated beer on St. Pattys day? You're right. I couldn't

Molson Kick was a lager with guarana added for a caffeine kick. When the beer was announced in 2005, it was though to be a great idea. Overall the beer people never really embraced it.

"It’s Molson with a nasty tasting herb added, it would sound more appealling if I said it was septic tank effluent with alcohol added."

"This stuff tastes like poison. If I could take away points from this beer, I would. Someone made a terrible mistake in coming out with this beer. This has to be THE worst beer I have ever tasted. 10 Thumbs down!"

I have a color changing mug that I use almost everyday for the last decade. It's awesome, to see when your coffee is at the perfect temp. I'm thinking of trading it in for an upgrade!
